Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -sies
: any of various disorders marked by abnormal electrical discharges in the brain and typically manifested by sudden brief episodes of altered or diminished consciousness, involuntary movements, or convulsions caused by auditory stimuli, usually in the presence of music or rhythms in general. mild occurrences consist of humming, tapping in rhythm, and having a song stuck in your head.
other names include but are not limited to: crumpin', steppin', poppin', lockin', rockin', rollin', gettin' jiggy wit' it, dancing, twitching to the beat, the robot, line dancing, air guitar, etc.
sometimes confused with epilepsy, much to the horror of onlookers, the real victims of jukilepsy are sometimes forced to watch and/or listen other people sing, dance, and play air instruments, sometimes simultaneously and badly. such examples can be found on television shows such as "American Idol", "Nashville Star", and "America's Got Talent".
in such cases, first aid is similar to that of an epileptic seizure with some minor differences.
* do not attempt to stop the event but, clear the area to prevent damage and injury.
* if possible, use a video capture device such as a camera to record the incident.
* respond as the performance dictates (laugh, clap, etc.).
