Matt Massik, even being in his early 20's, has been involved in the NEPA music scene for over 10 years. He began as a drummer in a local classic and new rock cover band and quickly accumulated equipment and knowledge from seasoned sound veterans in the area. After leaving the band in 2009, he began his own DJ business under the name "DJ 570".
The business quickly grew to something bigger than expected as the music scene was shifting towards disc jockeys and away from bands. Massik began gaining large accounts in the area such as Dallas, Tunkhannock and other various high schools. Each event began growing tremendously in attendance and with new equipment to provide an even better experience. Massik also took to the club and bar scene in early 2010. Within a few months he was being booked by major bars in the area such as Rodano's, Beer Boys, Kildare's, Mulligan's, etc.
Currently, the business has changed from just a DJing, to adding a producing aspect. The name "DJ 570" was changed to "Matt Massik", which now allows for a broader range of exposer for creating music. Massik has produced two tracks with well known producer, Jay Velar, which skyrocketed into top 10's on numerous blogs. The first being a remix contest on DJcity for "Talk Dirty" by Jason Derulo, in which Massik and Velar were awarded Top 10 out of over 400 entries throughout the world. The second being a remix for "Happy" by Pharrell, which was ranked #4 on most downloaded track on MyMP3PoolOnline for the month of April 2014.
